John Mark Galecki, 30 Nisan 1975 yılında Bree‘de Amerikalı bir ailenin oğlu olarak dünyaya geldi. Annesi Mary Lousu mortgage danışmanı, babası Richard Galecki ise Belçika’daki Amerika Birleşik Devletleri Hava Kuvvetleri‘nin bir üyesiydi ayrıca rehabilitasyon öğretmeni olarak da çalıştı.[2] Galecki, 3 yaşındayken ailesi ile birlikte Illinois eyaletine taşındı.
